Dear Reader,
I hope all of you that participate in the American holiday of Thanksgiving had a marvelous day this past Thursday. And to my Canadian friends who always celebrate on the second Monday of October, I hope your day was filled with blessings, too. I thought of you all, and often. I did not take time to write, though that also would frequently come to my mind. I have no real excuse except it was a very busy weekend. I did take some time on Sunday to relax. To “sharpen the saw”, the seventh habit that author Stephen Covey writes about in his book, 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE. It is one of my favorite books and filled with insights and great advice.
Now that I sit and write I am happy that I waited. I want to tell you how grateful I am for you, Dear Reader, so very grateful. Perhaps you need to hear it more now than last week when it was on most of our minds. After all the hustle and bustle, the traveling, the gatherings, catching up with old friends and family, listening to jokes, watching football, the cooking and the cleaning up. If you are like me I can get into a little “funk”, thinking, “Well, what I am supposed to do now? The adventures, the good times are over. Do I really want to go back to my old routine? And how exactly do I do that and keep some excitement in my life?”.
I saw this little video a couple of weeks ago. It’s about Stoffel, the Honey Badger. The intelligence this little guy has is startling, not to mention his determination and perseverance. I want to share it with you. (It’s only three minutes long.) He can take ordinary tools and create adventures. He’s a marvelous teacher! I want to be like Stoffel. Just give me some tools to help me open up my world. Give me some tools to help me build authentic, lasting, and loving relationships with like-minded people. Give me some tools to help me learn to really listen when others are talking. Give me some tools so I automatically turn within myself when I want to choose to be happy. Give me some tools to trust Life, each and every day.
I am grateful for you, Dear Reader, and thank you for reading my posts. Enjoy Stoffel. Celebrate your own life, and may all kinds of blessings flow to you.

I appears to me, Stoffel’s mind never shuts down. He is always looking for a new adventure, and he makes it all a game!
It makes me reflect on what drives my activities? Am I being as creative as Stoffel in finding new ways to entertain myself?
Let’s find the tools – mental and physical to have new adventures in life! Blessings to you dear Joan!
I think you understand Stoffel very well, Rick! What a brave little guy! He was orphaned so he is imprinted now on his human family. And yes, let’s find the tools!
Awww so sweet & clever. I love his determination I can relate to that ❤️💪👍
