I have been back at Our Treehouse since Saturday evening. As always it’s so good to be home and also so much to catch up on. The mail has stacked up, the grass has grown to a small hay field, and I like to find some extra quality time with my boys, Reddogg and Pan. I think that feeling is mutual as they miss me and I miss them when I am away from home.
The fall weather is coming in, a sign it’s time to mess with my flower beds and mow the grass just a few more times. I had planned to mow early yesterday afternoon, but then I realized my Green Bay Packers were playing football! Those of you that know me well know I do not watch T.V. till football season. I literally have to dust the T.V. off. :O) (I did watch parts of the Olympics, those athletes are so inspiring.) So I sat down and watched the game.
The photo above is my cat, Pan. Now this little guy is a rescue and going on three years old in the spring. Someone dropped him off in the field next door when he was just a few months old. This is the first fall where he has trusted me enough to understand he has a home now. He hangs out on my front porch and in the yard during the day, and at night he stays in the garage. I was watching the ball game next to the open window and Pan decided to join me on the outdoor window sill. It was the first time he has ever seen a T.V. and all the motion fascinated him. As you can see his eyes are riveted to the screen. He is watching the Packers play ball! One day Pan may decide to become an indoor cat, but at this time I see no real interest on his part to become familiar with a whole new world inside my home.
I did mow the the front yard after the game, the Packers winning over the Titans! Woohoo! And today I have messed with the weeds in the front flower bed. But my biggest priority is to review the outline for a book proposal given to me by Hay House from the Writer’s Boot Camp. The proposal gives me an opportunity for a possible contract with Hay House. Plus, those four days presented me with a boatload of information, all very valuable as I am moving on with my dream to publish my manuscript. I learned many things about the publishing world, including how most of the marketing for my book is my responsibility, whether I contract with a publisher, or self publish. Social media will become one of my biggest friends, which incudes Facebook. But I am planning on learning the power of Instagram and TikTok, too. This is how I build what is called a platform, and the more people see my name, my blog, and later down the road my book, the better.
The CEO of Hay House told us to ask our friends to help build that platform. So I am asking those of you that follow me here on All Here Now, if you are comfortable with my request, to please share my blog with anyone you think would enjoy my posts. I am hoping to inspire them too. Perhaps in writing their own book, or go after their own dreams, or to enjoy life a little more. After all, we are all in this thing called living together.
I’ll post another picture of Pan soon because who doesn’t love a handsome boy like Pan? I wonder if they make Green Bay Packer sweatshirts small enough for this little guy? Or a little knitted sweater with a big G across his back. Oh, too cute!
c Love, Joan
I had so much fun catching up: Hiking, biking, traveling and returning home with you. Thanks beautiful lady! It will be a special day when that sweet cat finally wanders inside… Your connection to Hay House is most exciting. I really believe in your book, Joan. George and I will definitely and delightedly invite folks to your wonderful blog so they can watch the magic unfold… xo
Thank you beautiful Lady! I believe I my book , too. I read something the other day about”everything you truly desire waits for you on the other side of the door. Right there!” We just have to have the courage and faith to open that door.
