It’s important to always take the time to play, no matter what age you are. Sometimes I can forget this, letting responsibilities take up most of my day. I think most of us understand how this comes about, this habit of filling our time with responsibilities. Our days can be consumed with our job, family, raising children, caring for elderly parents, errands, taking care of the house, yard work… Oh! The list can go on and on.

I have experts on HOW TO PLAY coming to visit me and staying in Our Treehouse with me. Yes! At times I can be a very wise woman. Tomorrow, this Saturday, and staying through Thursday, my grand kids will be hanging out with me. Cason is now eleven years young and Karys will be nine in August. As you can see they have at least a decade of experience, (well Karys has almost a decade) of how to live in the moment, how to build one’s imagination, how to have fun, all of which slide into the category of HOW TO PLAY. My grandchildren are generous with their knowledge and will be happy to share tips with me, including lots of smiles and laughter.

Now that I am retired as a nurse I try to take a little time everyday to relax. I also plan events that take me out of a more daily routine. The picture above is two of the Foxy Hags and One Old Geezer; Jeri, Robin, and Don. :O) We all went horse camping together the weekend after July 4th. We had a great time sitting around, eating great food, playing cards, watching all the horses and one mule, and talking with other campers. So relaxing and the temperature became cool enough that Saturday night to have a bonfire!

So, yes, I’m remembering more often now it’s time to play. I am so very grateful for this for many reasons. It’s good for me to have fun, to invite new experiences in my life, to set myself up to smile and laugh. And my experts are arriving very soon! Tomorrow! Responsibilities will take the back seat for a few days. No way am I going to disappoint them or myself. :O)
