Wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July! Celebrating the historical independence of America is a wonderful reason for a holiday. I love our American flag, our colors, red, white and blue, the Stars and Stripes. What a great design.
I think of the summer Olympics beginning July 26, 2024. I love the opening ceremonies and as I am an American it is so easy to spot our flag. And I really enjoy viewing the flags from the other countries participating in all the different sports. The athletes wear their colors so proudly and display their flags throughout the events. I never can decide between the summer and winter Olympics which one I prefer. But I love to watch the games. It’s the only time I really watch T.V., except for my Green Bay Packers playing football!
I have to admit at times I am not that competitive about who wins. I have been to many sports events, or watched them on T.V. and I have said, “Really I wish both teams could win this game. They both deserve it.” Even when I watch my Packers (though it is rare :O)) I have thought both teams should be declared the winner.
And something else I have thought, especially with the Olympics. What if all the countries around the world carried the same flag? A flag that simply read: PLANET EARTH. I wonder how it would impact us all if we cheered for one another, everyone on the same team…
