The above picture is of my darling Man, Alan, and myself, in his little Mini Cooper, Sweet Victoria. I just had to have some fun with her, and Alan played along by securing my pink Derby hat on top of her windshield. I was simply out to hopefully make people smile.
Alan drove her slowly through the little town of Bardstown, Ky. We were going to dinner to meet my brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry and Margaret, Dave and Pam, Mark and Wilma, and John and Nicole. My cousin Sheila and her husband, Larry also joined us, along with a dear family friend, Fr. Terry. (That is Nicole and John and Mark in the background of the picture.)
But as we were nearing the restaurant that we had chosen to dine at the wind broke the string that anchored the hat to Sweet Victoria! And that hat took off, right into the middle of the highway. Alan immediately pulled over and stopped the car, then quickly jumped out of the driver’s seat. I wish you could have seen that beautiful man running down the side of the road to retrieve that hat! I was so much into the moment I didn’t even think to take a video. But I have it logged into my memory banks. I am still smiling as I write this. It will be a memory I will always cherish!
So I hope you have a little fun soon, make someone smile, step outside of the box (safely). Create some fun memories. You’ll be glad you did. :O)
