Have you ever just had a morning when you simply cannot wait to step outdoors? That’s how I felt this morning. Louisville weather is absolutely amazing today, with the low Fahrenheit temperature down to 60 last night and the high only 79 today. In August! All the windows are open in my home and I can hear the birds, my prayer gong, and maybe tree frogs? maybe some kind of bugs?
It’s one of those days you can see every petal on the flowers and every leaf on the Tall Beings. A blue, blue sky with a few fluffy, white clouds, and the air cool and comfortable with no humidity. I actually had a jacket on for a short time on my prayer walk this morning. A morning filled with nothing but gratitude.
Reddogg and I walked down to feed the barn cats. My farmer neighbors had their store open so Reddogg had to go in for his doggie treat. He has a memory like an elephant when it comes to treats and the neighbors love to spoil him. It was good to say hello to everyone but we did not stay long. The morning was calling to me and I wanted to see the fields on both sides of Our Treehouse. Yesterday the tractors were out with men mowing down the tall, green grasses. The sweet smell of fresh grass drying in the fields permeated the air around us.And I noticed the sunflowers are beginning to dry up and turn brown. The Gold Finches are thrilled as the seeds are in such abundance. You can stand and watch them flit from one sunflower to another. In many ways it was feeling like the season of Fall was sneaking up all around us.
I was able to push mow some of my yard when we returned home, and weed eat around the driveway, taking advantage of the cooler temperature. And yes, as usual, my face did turn as red as a tomato, and I did get hot and sweaty. But I was grateful for that too, because I am strong enough physically to work in the yard. I remember when I wasn’t.
It really is a stellar day, a day when you just feel so damn good to be alive! :O)
c Love, Joan
Sounds like a great day in suburban Louisville! Too bad my Browns are getting beat up by those Packers. At least it’s only pre-season.
❤️💪👍
Yes! Staying strong beautiful Lady!
Louisville weather is rocking this weekend! And beware! My Packers will be rocking all football season!
Joan, I love your descriptions.. I could hear and smell and see everything you described!
I thank God that our paths crossed. You are one of the most positive people I ever met!
Thank you beautiful Lady! I love you! :O)
I read your post to my husband and we were both smiling by the end, so happy that you and Reddogg are having such a lovely day. We see Fall sneaking up on this side of the country too – in the changing slant of the sun… In the slow, brown withering of some flowers who want to be cut back already… Already?! Picking up my garden shears, I start to feel sad, and then I remember, ” Wait! You love Fall, Baby Girl!” A desert transplant, the child in me delights in the trees’ Northwest art show each October. But — Summer hasn’t left yet, even if she IS starting to pack… ;-( So—- thanks for helping us remember to savor ALL of Life, Joan – even being tomato red and sweaty! You are so, very, very wise, friend. XO
Yes all four glorious seasons, but some we are attached to more than others. Grateful you are surrounded by so much beauty in your home. :O)
What a wonderful blog! I agree with you, this weather is definitely a welcomed delight! We did not have cool mornings in Florida. We are so happy to be back in Kentucky and able to enjoy the morning walks, the birds’ songs, rabbits busy hopping around and even chipmucks scurrying about. I am grateful for so much and you are one of the many gratitude’s I count!
So glad you notice our feathered friends and little furry beings. But of course you do! you are one of the people that taught me to notice them! :O)
Envisioning your walk and outdoor activities put a smile on my face. I enjoy early morning walks too. This morning I felt blessed enough to hear an owl’s beautiful ‘hoot song’. If I’m ever reminded to look up the spiritual meaning of living creatures that I see or hear, it brings peace when I read about it.
Today, I read…
Many believe that owls have a special connection to the spirit world, and that they serve as messengers between the realms of the living and the dead. With this in mind, an owl’s hoot may be a message of protection and guidance from an ancestor, spirit guide, or a loved one who has recently passed.
Now that really put a smile on my face. What a blessing! I see and hear the love coming from the universe seen and unseen! ❤️🥰
Oh! I feel the love too beautiful Girl! And our friend Owl, I am not surprised he showed up, you being a Hospice nurse nurse and all! :O)
