I sat outside early yesterday morning taking in the sights and sounds. The light blue sky was a solid canopy above me. Motion was all around me, the morning sunlight throwing shadows on the ground from the Tall Beings, the trees. I swear the Tall Beings were dancing! Twirling and shaking high up in their branches and their leaves, and occasionally a solitary leaf would float down to the ground. So much Life was everywhere. A bullfrog would give out a deep throaty bass note every now and then from the pond. Multiple types of birds were performing their never ending Brand New Day orchestra. Absolutely beautiful! Somewhere I could hear Sonny, my faithful Mockingbird singing above the others. Some things never change! A tiny spider was sliding from one potted plant to another, her own private zip-line. Then I shut my eyes just to simply listen. I heard Prudie the Hummingbird flying by close to my head like a tiny airplane, zip-zip! I smiled and opened my eyes. Oh, how the Tall Beings continued to dance! Grandmother Tree was to my left, strong and solid, her large cedar trunk a mixture of shadow and sunlight, her tiny blue-green berries tipping her branches, swaying in the breeze.

I had sat to fill my heart with gratitude. My cup runneth over, I was not disappointed.

c   Love, Joan

… a spider’s private zip-line – haha. I’ll be giggling and thinking of you the next time I see a silky trajectory shimmering between two objects! x0
